Mike has been at MacRoberts for over 16 years. Mike is accredited by The Law Society of Scotland as a Specialist in Construction Law and also has an LLM in Construction Law (with Distinction). He specialises in non–contentious construction work, including building and engineering contracts, development agreements, collateral warranties, professional appointments, novation agreements, performance bonds and guarantees.
Mike has advised employers, contractors, funders, subcontractors and consultants in relation to the design and construction of numerous projects, including energy infrastructure projects, transport facilities, manufacturing facilities, office premises, retail units, distribution centres, hotels and health centres. He has considerable experience of standard form contracts such as SBCC, JCT, FIDIC, MF/1 and NEC3, as well as the construction aspects of PPP projects.
Prior to joining the firm, Mike spent seven years in the engineering industry, of which five years were spent negotiating contracts for the supply and construction of gas turbine power stations and associated equipment in the UK, the Far East, the Middle East and South America.
Mike is also listed on Who’s Who Legal: Construction 2017.
