Jamie Meechan joined MacRoberts in 2015 and is a solicitor in our employment law team.

Jamie advises employers and employees in relation to all aspects of employment law and HR issues, including: unfair dismissal; managing sickness absence and performance issues; discrimination and the Equality Act 2010; settlement agreements and compromising employment claims; ACAS early conciliation; contracts of employment and varying terms and conditions; pay and National Minimum Wage; holiday pay; redundancy, short time working and lay off and gender pay gap reporting.

Jamie advises employees and employers of all sizes and across a wide range of sectors. Examples of his work include advising a large public sector employer in relation to a voluntary severance scheme and advising a large international employer in the food and drink sector in relation to the employment of a senior executive, and also in relation to contracts and policies for all employees.

Jamie is a member of the Employment Lawyers Association (ELA) (UK), is a business mentor for Micro Tyco and writes various articles on employment law. Furthermore, Jamie is a member of our GiveSomethingMac! Committee where we create firm-wide initiatives to support local charities.
