Social Enterprise Business Structures - 21 August 2019

Wednesday 21 August 2019
MacRoberts LLP, Excel House, 30 Semple Street, Edinburgh, EH3 8BL
8.30am - 11.00am

Following the Social Enterprise World Forum in Edinburgh last year, MacRoberts continues to be heavily involved in the social enterprise sector and in advising charities, entrepreneurs, the public sector and those seeking to embed social value on all aspects of the “spectrum of business structuring options”.

At this free breakfast event, Partner Robin Fallas will provide a comprehensive overview of the business structures spectrum, bringing out the important points to be aware of and the key “functional drivers” that tend to lead to adoption of one structure over another, for those seeking to achieve, or working with those seeking to achieve, social purpose through trading.

Structures that will be covered include organisations with charitable status, community interest companies, companies limited by guarantee and registered societies. Robin will also cover use of companies limited by guarantee and limited liability partnerships, particularly relevant in the context of charities trading through subsidiaries and/or joint ventures.

This session is aimed at those who have recently started or are considering starting a social enterprise, those who are trustees or employees of charities looking at new trading or new avenues of trading to generate income and those involved in providing intermediary or professional support to social enterprises and charities. Please complete the form below to register your place at this event.

Places are free but limited, so early registration is advised.
