MacRoberts presents Standard Life‘s Sandy Begbie with Inspiring Role Model Award at Scotland’s first ever national Diversity Awards
Over 300 guests gathered last night at the Radisson in Glasgow’s to celebrate the inaugural Diversity Awards. The event, organised by The Herald and GenAnaytics, celebrated the companies, organisations and individuals who are making huge changes to their business or community by putting equality and diversity at the centre of their practices.
Law firm MacRoberts was on board as a sponsor alongside Diageo, People Make Glasgow and Lloyds Banking Group. Managing Partner John Macmillan was delighted to present the award of Inspiring Role Model to Sandy Begbie of Standard Life.
Sandy Begbie was recognised for his passion for diversity and inclusion that has been a defining characteristic of his career. In his current role at Standard Life he has been committed to removing barriers to employment and discrimination at work in all aspects of diversity including gender, race, colour, disability, religion and age.
MacRoberts’ decision to sponsor the Diversity Awards was a natural choice, given the firm’s own commitment to Diversity. Katy Weddernburn, head of employment at MacRoberts said,
