This weekend (Saturday 8th December), a team from MacRoberts took part in Sleep in the Park in Glasgow, raising over £3,500 for homeless charity Social Bite.

Now in its third year, MacRoberts has supported the sleep out since it began in 2016, with money raised going towards a number of initiatives with the overall aim of ending homelessness in Scotland for good.
All money raised from this year’s event will go towards:

  • A nationwide ‘Housing First’ programme, with 800 mainstream flats pledged in Edinburgh, Glasgow, Dundee and Aberdeen to bring rough sleepers off the streets and into a secure tenancy
  • Ongoing support of residents of the Social Bite Village project in Edinburgh and the development of more purposeful accommodation like this in other cities
  • Initiatives to help young people leaving care and people leaving the prison system get the support they need
  • Employment opportunities for people from homeless backgrounds in Edinburgh, Glasgow, Livingston and Aberdeen and distribute over 10,000 items of food and hot drinks to the homeless community each year

From all at MacRoberts, we would like to say a huge thank you to everyone for your generous donations! If you would like to donate, there is still time to do so – please visit our fundraising page to find out more.
