James is a Legal Director who joined MacRoberts in 2003 and advises on all aspects of pensions law and employee ownership law to trustees, companies, public sector and third sector organisations. James is also a Director of MacRoberts Trustees Limited, our independent trustee company.
James has also lectured for clients, the Law Society of Scotland and the Scottish Council for Voluntary Organisations (SCVO) on pension law topics.
James is a member of the Association of Pension Lawyers (the “APL”) and has been elected as the Secretary of its Scottish Group and is also a member of the APL’s Public Sector Pensions Sub Committee. James co-authored the Scottish section of Tolley’s Pensions Law a major UK legal textbook with Martyn Shaw (September 2016).
