Gillian joined MacRoberts in 2002 and since then has handled commercial claims in areas as diverse as banking and pensions, employment, shareholder disputes, insolvency and director disqualification, to negligence, fishing and crofting disputes.
She has a particular interest in property litigation including lease disputes, rectification, variation of title conditions and CPO compensation claims. Clients say she “impresses with her technical prowess on a range of contentious real estate matters.”
Gillian regularly appears in the sheriff courts and instructs Court of Session actions, in addition to Lands Tribunal work. She is also experienced in arbitrations and mediations.
Gillian is the chair of the Scottish branch of the Property Litigation Association (SPLA), an association set up to promote specialist property litigation skills within the property industry. She is also joint senior tutor of Civil Court Practice in the Diploma of Legal Practice at Glasgow University.
Additionally, Gillian’s work has contributed to MacRoberts being shortlisted for Commercial Team of the Year at the British Legal Awards 2016
