About Bonar

Bonar's work focuses on mergers and acquisitions (M&A), and he also regularly advises on equity investments, joint ventures, group re-organisations, and general corporate governance matters, including articles of association and shareholder agreements. He has advised and assisted on deals spanning a broad range of sectors which has included advising UK PLCs, SMEs and high-growth emerging Scottish businesses.

Bonar’s recent experience includes: advising on the sale of a large UK-wide home insurance and maintenance business to a UK energy supplier; advising a UK PLC on the disposal of 13 publishing titles across the south-east of England; advising a leading Scottish motor dealership on the strategic acquisition of a competing business; and advising on the sale of a leading UK provider of online educational courses to an Australian-based purchaser.

After completing his legal studies, Bonar worked in London for several years in financial services dispute resolution. He has considerable experience and a continued interest in the regulated financial services sector.

Additionally, Bonar’s work contributed to MacRoberts being shortlisted for Commercial Team of the Year at the British Legal Awards 2016.
