Agne is experienced in drafting various types of commercial contracts (including manufacturing, distribution, warehousing, agency and licence agreements) along with T&Cs for sale or purchase, often in regulated fields or for regulated products, in particular in the food and drink, cosmetics or medical devices sectors for public and private sector clients. She is experienced in negotiating disputes over trade marks, copyright or advertising laws and regularly advises on data protection matters. Agne also assists with IP and brand management such as filing trade mark applications, review of IP portfolios, including conducting IP audits.
Agne regularly assists third sector clients in matters of charity law, governance, corporate structures, and other areas that impact charities such as contract negotiation, brand protection, data protection, regulation, incorporation, governance advice and fundraising. Agne previously worked at a firm of Patent and Trade Mark and assisted the firm in achieving their ISO 27001 Standard and Cyber Essentials certification by reviewing the firm’s security policies, data storage and management, information security, including working with their IT providers in making sure the firm had implemented the various security measures.
Agne has a keen interest in sports law, advising clients in this field on matters such as governance and commercial agreements and, personally, competing in sports of strongwoman and powerlifting. She also has an interest in the emerging space sector in Scotland.
Agne is regularly involved in matters relating to food and drink regulations, for example, advising clients in the whisky industries, and regularly writes blogs and provides detailed legal updates for clients.
During her traineeship prior to joining MacRoberts, Agne was seconded to the Forestry and Land Scotland, assisting and reviewing the team in respect of the voluntary Land Registration Project of the National Forest Estate.
Agne is also a Management Committee member of Clydesdale Housing Association, with a strong passion for affordable housing, having grown up in social housing. Agne is also a mentor with MCR Pathways and was part of the Young Leaders Programme for Climate 2050 Group.
