GDPR Autumn Seminars: ICO Fines and Lessons Learned So Far - October 2019

We would be delighted if you could join us for our series of GDPR seminars taking place in Dundee, Glasgow, Stirling and Edinburgh in October 2019.

We are now well past the first anniversary of the implementation of the General Data Protection Regulation. However, it is only in the last few months that have we begun to see the true extent of the Information Commissioner’s Office’s (ICO) new and increased powers to impose fines for data breaches. With corporate heavyweights such as British Airways and Marriot International already falling foul of these powers, there are invaluable lessons to be learned for business of all sizes in complying with their data protection obligations.

In these seminars, lawyers from our specialist data protection team will cover the following:

  •  what we have learned from the ICO investigations and the fines it intends to impose;
  •  the ICO's strategic approach to dealing with data breaches; and
  •  how you can mitigate and manage the increased risks.

These seminars are aimed at anyone who collects and uses personal data and will be of interest to businesses and public and third sector organisations of all shapes and sizes.
