MacRoberts LLP partners with ENABLE Scotland to raise vital funds
MacRoberts LLP has embarked upon a new corporate partnership with ENABLE Scotland.
Showing their support for the organisation, partners and employees from the Scottish law firm first took to the streets for the Glasgow Kiltwalk on Sunday 30 April. MacRoberts has chosen to support ENABLE Scotland in a variety of ways; from raising funds via events like the Kiltwalk as well as sponsoring their Annual Ball in February 2018. The firm will also share its skills and expertise to support ENABLE Scotland members and volunteer at key fundraising events.
The Glasgow Kiltwalk was a great success, with 280 walkers taking part to raise funds for ENABLE Scotland; the learning disability charity is a key beneficiary of the Kiltwalk this year. MacRoberts will also be taking part in the Aberdeen Kiltwalk in June and the Edinburgh Kiltwalk in September.
The 280 walkers who took part in the Glasgow Kiltwalk, including the MacRoberts team, have so far raised £28,000 for the charity, with some fundraising monies still coming in. All money raised will be supplemented by an additional 10% in funding, donated by Sir Tom Hunter and his charitable foundation.
Katy Wedderburn, Partner, MacRoberts LLP
“MacRoberts is delighted to support ENABLE Scotland in this exciting and challenging event. The work ENABLE Scotland does to fight discrimination and inequality is truly inspirational and we wholeheartedly support their vision of an equal society for every person who has a learning disability. As a Scottish based law firm, we have long established links with the charity sector and we will continue to work with organisations to deliver and enhance the opportunities for all disadvantaged people in Scotland.”
ENABLE Scotland CEO Theresa Shearer joined walkers, along with Sir Tom Hunter, to kick off The Big Stroll portion of the day at Clydebank College. Speaking at the event, Theresa said:
“We are delighted that MacRoberts has chosen to support ENABLE Scotland as a corporate partner. They have actively supported our charity fundraising activities for a number of years and have recently become more active as a corporate sponsor of our Annual Ball. Through generating fundraising income from events like the Kiltwalk in partnership with companies like MacRoberts, ENABLE Scotland can support more families throughout Scotland.”
The Kiltwalk continues in Aberdeen on 4 June, Dundee on 20 August and Edinburgh on 17 September, with MacRoberts colleagues, friends and family joining in the fun. Sign up to take part at http://www.thekiltwalk.co.uk/events/ or contact firstname.lastname@example.org, 01698 737024.
