MacRoberts’ procurement team is a market leader in Scotland and recognised throughout the UK for advising contracting authorities and bidders on all aspects of public services. We have significant experience in advising bidders on procurement issues, particularly on major infrastructure, NPD and hub models, health, education and transport and more generally in construction.
We work with our clients to ensure they are fully informed about procurement and public law obligations for infrastructure investments and service delivery, as well as an ongoing public sector focus on social value and sustainability in procurement.
Our public procurement team is led by one of Scotland’s few accredited specialists in procurement law and is known for leading edge public procurement advice provided by one of the most respected legal teams in Scotland.
We provide specialist contentious advice, raising and defending procurement court challenges. We have been involved in the majority of Court of Session procurement cases, including judgements with UK significance.
We advise the Scottish Government, non-departmental public bodies, NHS Boards, universities and several local authorities on high-profile procurement issues, working with them to understand their issues and providing them with proactive, practical and cost-effective solutions. We also play a key role with ‘Ready for Business’ in supporting the Scottish Government as it prepares for implementation of the new EU Procurement Directive, together with the enactment of the important reforms in the Procurement Reform (Scotland) Act 2014 (PRSA).
Our work is genuinely ‘leading edge’ (in terms of public policy), and we advise at the intersection of public procurement law, social impact in commissioning and public sector procurement governance and reforms.
