Health and Safety for Individuals

Our specialist team will defend clients from the initial point of contact with investigators through to any hearing in court. We will liaise with investigators throughout and protect our clients’ position, including representing them at interviews with investigators.

Services

We advise, prepare and present the defence of prosecutions raised in Scotland by the Crown Office and Procurator Fiscal Service, following upon investigations by Police Scotland’s Economic Crime Unit, the Financial Conduct Authority, the Health and Safety Executive, the Scottish Environmental Protection Agency, the Food Standards Agency, the Forestry Commission, HMRC and DVSA, among other bodies.

It is often the case that an individual can have contact with a regulator, but not realise that they need protected from that initial point of contact. As such, clients will often compromise themselves by giving information to a regulator that they need not give. As soon as a regulator contacts an individual in relation to an investigation or incident, the individual should immediately take legal advice to protect their position.

24 Hour Helpline

We also provide 24/7 emergency support for individuals who find themselves the subject of health and safety investigations, with a dedicated helpline to deal with these matters. Our team will be on call to provide free advice on how to deal with the incident under investigation, and how to protect the individual moving forward.
