MacRoberts is delighted to be a key sponsor of the Social Enterprise World Forum (SEWF), which starts today in Edinburgh.

10 years since the first ever SEWF event took place in Scotland, CEIS – the founders of SEWF and organisers of the 2018 events – is set to welcome over 1,000 social enterprise delegates from around the world to the sold out event at Edinburgh’s International Conference Centre.

This year’s event is themed around inspiring a new decade of impact, and MacRoberts Partners Duncan Osler and Robin Fallas will be presenting throughout the three-day conference. Robin, a specialist in public and third sector matters, will present at a workshop on social procurement, while Duncan, a renowned expert on public procurement law, will present on social enterprise structures. He will also co-chair a panel on social enterprise ecosystems and accelerating social enterprise development. MacRoberts is also hosting a workshop on the legal issues for social enterprises to consider as part of the programme.

MacRoberts has a longstanding relationship with SEWF, having previously participated in events in Rio, Calgary, Milan and Christchurch. The firm has market-leading experience in the charities, social enterprise and third sectors, working closely with and for a large number of public sector and intermediary bodies and investors involved in support and investment within the sector.

Scotland has taken a global lead in harnessing the potential of social enterprise, and hosting SEWF again in 2018 coincides with the publishing of recent strategies tailored to support internationalisation of and for Scottish social enterprises.
