MacRoberts is looking forward to supporting The Herald’s inaugural Scottish Family Business Breakfast, which will address topical issues for discussion and debate whilst bringing together the leading family businesses in Scotland.

The breakfast, which takes place on 23rd August 2018 at Drygate in Glasgow, will provide delegates with the opportunity to network, learn, question and hear from industry experts. Deirdre Kinloch Anderson OBE has been announced as the event’s keynote speaker, and she will highlight the story of Edinburgh-based kilt specialist Kinloch Anderson, now managed by the sixth generation of her family.

Michael Kelly, Partner at MacRoberts, said: “Family businesses in Scotland play an important role within the Scottish economy but the issues they face are unique and can be challenging. As well as advising family businesses regularly on their legal needs, I am also part of a family business so I do have some insight into the issues.”

As a law firm founded by the MacRobert family in 1861, MacRoberts recognises that family businesses are one of the cornerstones of the Scottish economy. The firm works with the full range of family-owned businesses, advising them across all areas of law and ensuring they maintain healthy business and family relationships.
