MacRoberts is delighted to announce two internal promotions to its partnership to further strengthen its Real Estate and Projects divisions.

David McGuire has been with MacRoberts for 16 years and was a Legal Director within the Real Estate Group. He has considerable experience in commercial property, with a particular focus on renewable energy developments as well as a great deal of experience in hotel and commercial developments.

David said, “I am honoured to be a partner in MacRoberts, delighted to be joining an exceptional partner team, and fully intend to continue to uphold the firm’s guiding principles, and to develop and expand my practice in the energy sector.”

Robin Fallas has been with the firm for 10 years and was a Senior Associate in the Projects Group. Robin specialises in advising on public and third sector matters and is recognised in Chambers UK and Legal 500 for his expertise in charities and procurement law. He also advises a wide range of organisations across the third sector, including social enterprises and charities, and is a member of The Law Society’s Charity Law Sub-committee.

Robin said, “I’m delighted to have been appointed partner and look forward to continuing to grow the strength and breadth of our public sector and charities teams. During my time at MacRoberts, working with the variety of people who make up the firm, has been extremely enjoyable, and I look forward to that continuing.”

It comes on the same day that new Manging Partner Neil Kennedy officially takes over the reins from John Macmillan who returns to his role as a Partner in the firm’s Employment team.

Neil Kennedy said, “I am delighted to welcome David and Robin to the partnership, they have both shown great commitment to the firm over the years and both positions are richly deserved. I look forward to working closely with them in my new capacity as Managing Partner, as we focus on growing our Real Estate and Projects divisions.”

The firm now has 43 Partners and over 160 staff across its offices in Glasgow, Edinburgh and Dundee.
