    • Employment LGBT Adoption and Fostering Week: What about work? This week (2-8 March 2020) marks LGBT Adoption and Fostering Week. All 'family friendly' employment rights potentially apply to LGBT+ families, so It is worth familiarising yourself with the relevant policies in your workplace.
    • Individuals & Families Living with cohabitation laws This week, 25-29 November, marks Cohabitation Awareness Week, organised by Resolution. This organisation campaigns on policy issues relevant to family justice professionals. This year’s topic seems highly fitting in an area that remains unfamiliar to those to whom it applies, and difficult for practitioners to advise on.
    • Brexit The Impact of Brexit on Family Law – we’ll get by ( we hope) with a little help from our friends… It could be said that in family law matters, we have all become a little complacent when it comes to considering whether or not European Regulations apply to the member state we are dealing with. We have become dependent upon Brussells II when it comes to jurisdiction. This will all change if we leave the EU with no deal.
    • Individuals & Families Trial Before the Aisle According to research, millennials are three times less likely to get married than their grandparents.
    • Individuals & Families Scotland takes a stance on domestic abuse Scotland is leading the way with the introduction of a ground-breaking piece of legislation, the Domestic Abuse (Scotland) Act. The Domestic Abuse (Scotland) Act creates a specific offence for "abusive behaviour towards a partner or ex-partner" for the first time.
