General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) for Pensions Trustees
The GDPR is the new EU data protection law which will come into effect on 25 May 2018. This will apply in the UK despite Brexit because of the UK Data Protection Bill which is currently working its way through Parliament.
Pension Scheme Trustees are generally data controllers and are responsible for ensuring compliance with data protection laws, including the GDPR requirements.
This note is intended to briefly set out the main actions for Trustees to assist them in preparing for 25 May 2018.
