We currently have an opportunity to join our Real Estate team in Edinburgh.

The Role

The successful candidate will be part of a team which carries out a wide range of commercial real estate transactions including acquisitions, disposals, leasing for both landlords and tenants and the Scottish elements of cross border portfolio transactions.

Experience/Education

Candidates must have previous experience in a commercial property role.  Applicants should have a dynamic approach, be commercially aware, have good technical skills and be enthusiastic about business development.  They should be a team player with excellent communication and organisational skills.  Experience of English Property transactions would be an advantage but not essential.

We currently have an opportunity for a Solicitor to join our busy Private Client department. The Private Client team has an enviable reputation and wishes to recruit a talented, enthusiastic and motivated Solicitor who will manage their own caseload.

The Role

The successful candidate can expect to be involved in working on:-

  • Drafting Wills and Powers of Attorney;
  • Executry administration;
  • Trust creation and administration;
  • Tax planning;
  • Guardianship applications; and
  • General Private Client business.

Key Responsibilities

The type of work is broad ranging, stimulating and often innovative. The successful candidate will also be involved in the preparation and delivery of research and training from time to time and in networking activities generally.  Commercial awareness is essential.

Experience Required

Applicants should have a minimum of 2 years PQE, dealing with all aspects of Private Client work including Wills, Probate, Trusts, Charities, Powers of Attorney and general client facing instructions preferably gained within a similarly reputable Private Client department. The ideal candidate would be able to work with the minimum supervision.

We currently have an opportunity to join our Commercial Dispute Resolution team in Edinburgh.

The Role

The team operates as a single unit across all our office in Edinburgh, Glasgow and Dundee.  The successful candidate will be involved in a wide range of activities involving commercial disputes, advising and representing clients in all forms of dispute forums (litigation, arbitration, mediation etc) on a very varied range of disputes in the Court of Session and Sheriff Courts.

Education/Experience

Applicants must have experience in commercial dispute resolution.  In addition to being able to demonstrate relevant legal experience, the successful candidate will require excellent interpersonal and communication skills.  Applicants will have to be able to juggle a busy and varied workload, have an enthusiastic approach to work and enjoy working in a team environment.
