Trainees lift Prospects Scottish Cup
A group of trainee lawyers from MacRoberts have clinched the Scottish Cup in the Prospects Cup Competition.
Stephanie Wright, Mhairi Maguire, Kirstin Stobo, Jennifer Allan and Stephanie Halley took part in the popular business competition organised by the University of East Anglia which was entered by several hundred teams from all industry sectors, including other firms of solicitors.
Each team formed and managed a fictional company, being allocated a specific budget for each quarter and taking into consideration various factors such as marketing, product pricing, investment, production and transport costs and tax . Team decisions were submitted weekly, allocating the budget for each business period, the results of which determined their budget for the following period.
Following 12 rounds of decision-making, the MacRoberts team reached the UK semi-final and, ultimately being the top-ranking 'business team' in Scotland, lifted the Prospects Scottish Cup.
